Actual Occasions is Pablo Somonte Ruano and Nicolò Cervello.
Patterns of: {Observation, Participation, Collaboration} is an exploration of sound and the practice of its distribution: in time as music, in space as participatory installations, and through experimental publishing formats. The sound is defined by a playful use of FM synthesis, redundant parameter automation, wonky sounds, unstable timbres, unconventional time-signatures and rhythmic structures that resist regularity and resolution.
The project takes shape in three distinct patterns:
Observation
Releases distributed through alternative means and platforms foregrounding access, archiving, and circulation outside dominant streaming infrastructures.

Participation
A playful sonification of distribution and coordination, taking the form of an emergent sonic installation that comes to life when participants sharing a physical space visit the project’s website from their personal devices. The participants become nodes in a distributed audio-visual system that follow a generative score. The shared presence of participants creates a distributed orchestra of devices, synchronized through an already shared protocol: clock time.

Collaboration (Coming soon)
An open-ended selection of files at different stages, midi sequences, instruments, effects, sample packs, and patches used throughout our collaboration. This acts as an invitation for others to continue, fork, diverge, remix, or appropriate the material.
Together, these three patterns treat sound not as a finished object, but as a process that unfolds through listening, presence, and shared making.
